VendorCity Private BETA Launch

Posted by JC Cameron on June 29th, 2008

VendorCity LaunchWe are happy to announce that our private BETA launch has gone off very well.  Within the first 24 hours, we had more than 30 vendors reviewed in our database and expect to see many more soon.  For an idea of what you could already get out of the database, here’s the list of categories that have vendors with 4.5 stars or more:

  • Several web site design firms that work both locally and nationally
  • Business Liability Broker
  • Business Contract Attorney
  • Web Application Development
  • Certified Public Accountants and Tax Professionals
  • Professional Photographer
  • Corporate Realtor
  • Benefits Administration
  • 401K Retirement Plan Administration
  • Staffing and Recruitment
  • IT Consulting

That is what you now have access to…all within the first 24 hours of our private launch.  Just think how valuable that data is to your business and how much better your company will do when it is able to quickly and efficiently find the best possible vendors and partners (and know which ones to avoid).

So, come in and register today to get access to our community-powered vendor search solution!

Hold onto Your Hats! VendorCity is going NATIONAL!

Posted by JC Cameron on June 28th, 2008

Our initial plan was to launch the BETA in Boston and New Hampshire as that is where we are located and where we could build some initial momentum.  However, based upon the feedback of users around the country, we internally raised the question of going nationally about two weeks ago.

So, we scrambled, we designed, we programmed, we brainstormed, and, in the end, we said, what the heck, let’s do it.  And we did.  300+ cities and regions later, we managed to pull it all together and will indeed launch our BETA service nationally.

Now that means, more than ever, we need your help to build up the database to create value both for the users of the site and the vendors in the system.  So, when we launch, I hope you have your list of vendors ready so that we can really get this thing off the ground!

Some Early Exposure for VendorCity

Posted by JC Cameron on June 27th, 2008

Although VendorCity has not yet launched to the public, we have been fortunate to receive some early interest.  We received an invitation from the New Hampshire High Tech Council to participate in the April 29 NHHTC / MIT Enterprise Forums of NH event.  We were asked to do a two-minute SkyDive presentation where we introduced our company to the audience of 100 or so.  It was a great event and highly suggest that any entrepreneur in the tech field in NH join NHHTC today.

We have also been lucky to be a featured start-up in a couple of local New England blogs:

Thanks to Tom and David for those profiles.

Your Chance to Learn All About VendorCity!

Posted by JC Cameron on June 26th, 2008

VendorCity is your business-to-business vendor search and recommendation site.  The overall concept is pretty simple: word-of-mouth referrals are the single best way to find good partners and vendors.  So, we have built a system that allows you to provide fair and honest reviews of vendors that you work with.  We want the good, the bad, and the ugly because the more honest you are with your vendor reviews, the more valuable they become when someone else is trying to make a vendor selection.

The idea is that with VendorCity, you have a chance to quickly narrow your search to the best vendors in your area and you can reward those vendors who have treated you well.  Additionally, you can invite your trusted colleagues and businesses partners to add their vendors so that you will always have 24-7 access to a list of the best vendors and know which ones you should avoid.

We’ll be using this blog to keep you abreast of the action here at VendorCity.  VendorCity is just getting started and with the imminent release of the upcoming BETA, we hope that you will become an integral part of our progress forward.  Your ideas, suggestions, and feedback can and will have a huge impact on the direction and growth of this new service.  So please help us by sharing your insight, wisdom, and advice.
